With its large number of sipes and many different gripping edges in the blocks, the Eurovan Winter 2 generates a sort of “ice scraper effect”. A combination of snow pockets and the optimized uptake of snow in the tread facilitates even better snow-to-snow interlocking. Broad drainage channels ensure fast and efficient water evacuation from the contact patch. As a result, this winter specialist from General Tire for light commercial vehicles and vans offers superior traction and top-class handling characteristics, as well as better braking on snow and wet road surfaces. Other positives include its resistance to aquaplaning and good handling characteristics on slush. The compact shoulder blocks and two central, continuous tread ribs deliver safe grip when cornering and excellent directional stability. The Eurovan Winter 2 is available in 14 sizes for 14- to 16-inch rims and in widths from 185 to 235 millimeters. Depending on size, these tires are approved for speeds of up to 106 mph.

Initial Impressions

As a hydraulic man and commercial/agricultural tire fitter my van spends its life in quarries, farms, forests and fields, and these tires have got me there and back every time! Top of Snowdon TWICE! Ploughed fields, snow up to the sills pulling cars out, bogs and beaches where never a problem, in my mind there not a winter tire, there the best AT2 tire you can put on a work van, and it’s not even close and I’ve tried most.

These tires look good and grip fairly well in all conditions but that's where the positives end. They wear out quite quickly and I've had one so badly out of shape it's like a rugby ball, causing extremely bad vibrations (I've never seen anything like it) only 18months old. At this price point and with the 'General' name I expected far more; in all honesty you'd be better with a budget. The side walls are like cheese, they split and are cut by the passing air, they are hard as concrete, providing little road feedback or comfort. In short spend your money elsewhere

I bought these because I needed some tires for the front of my Vauxhall Vivaro quickly and they were the only ones that my local dealer had. From about 20mph to 50mph they are terrible, noisy and vibrate through the steering. Above about 55mph you do drive out of this. I have now done about 2000 miles on them and really can't bear them any longer. I am going to swap them with the Goodyears on the back but if this doesn't work I will have to change them. Buy cheap buy twice as the saying goes.
