Performance Analysis

GT Radial WinterPro2 Evo - Official Image

GT Radial's WinterPro2 Evo shows a split personality: strong braking performance and solid snow capability contrasted by weaknesses in dry and wet handling, aquaplaning, and wear. It excelled in the large-scale Autobild braking comparison (3rd/55 overall, with 5th in wet braking at +4% from best and 7th/33 in snow braking at +1.4%), and delivered standout snow handling (2nd/22) with competitive snow braking (+0.7% from best) in the full Autobild test. It is also notably quiet and can be very fuel efficient (1st/12 in ADAC fuel consumption), offering good value (3rd/20).
However, the full balance of performance lags: dry braking and handling were weak (17th/23 and 21st/23 in Autobild; 10th/12 dry braking in ADAC), and the tire struggled significantly with aquaplaning and wet handling (regularly bottom-tier in both Autobild and ADAC). Wear and abrasion were also below average across tests. The result is a tire that brakes well (especially in the wet and on snow) and runs quietly and efficiently, but suffers in stability, aquaplaning reserves, and longevity, reflected in middling overall finishes (16/23 Autobild, 9/12 ADAC).
