The 7 BEST All Weather Tires Tested P6 of 7

The Firestone WeatherGrip has a 65,000 mile treadwear warranty and a low purchase price making it one of the best value tires of the test, a it also has excellent grip in the snow. Sadly it's dry, wet or ice grip could not match the snow performance, leaving the tire with very long dry and wet braking distances.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Firestone WeatherGrip finished sixth of seven overall in Tire Reviews' 2025 all-weather test, with long braking distances the main concern. Dry braking was last of eight measured tires at 44.32 m, 29% longer than best, while wet braking was seventh, 28.8% longer. Wet handling was also seventh of eight, and the testers criticised reduced grip on both dry and wet roads. Ice traction was another weakness, placing seventh of eight and 74.1% from best; ice braking was fifth, 24.2% longer than best.

Snow traction, comfort and warranty-based value were the stronger areas. Traction was third of eight and subjective snow handling first of seven, although the timed snow lap was fourth of eight. Snow braking was less convincing at seventh of eight, 11.1% longer than best, so praise for snow grip should not be read as equally strong stopping performance. Comfort led the seven-tire subjective assessment, but subjective noise was last and tread-pattern noise drew criticism. Value was second of seven using the 65,000-mile warranty and purchase price, which estimates cost rather than demonstrating wear life. All results come from one test in 225/65 R17, with an uneven balance between comfortable snow driving and weaker stopping or grip elsewhere.
