The BEST All Weather Tires for 2026/27 P1 of 8

The new Continental SecureContact AW finished joint first with the Michelin. It was the best tire in the wet, secure and predictable with huge amounts of grip, it got closer to the Michelin in the snow than any other tire, and it had the second lowest rolling resistance. Aquaplaning is its weak point. If you see more wet weather across the year than snow, this is the all weather tire to buy.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.

The Continental SecureContact AW finished joint first with the Michelin CrossClimate 2 AW in Tire Reviews' 2025 comparison, titled The BEST All Weather Tires for 2026/27. Its clearest advantage was wet grip: first of eight in braking at 31.97 meters, first in handling at 72.69 seconds and first on the wet circle. The tester described predictable behavior with plenty of grip. Snow traction also ranked first, matching the Michelin, while snow braking was second, only 1.4% longer than best. Rolling resistance and comfort were both second, and dry handling was second with a 0.2% gap to the fastest lap.

Aquaplaning is the clear weakness despite those strong wet-road results. It was seventh of eight in both disciplines, 6.9% behind best in straight-line aquaplaning and 27.5% behind in the curved test. Dry braking was more ordinary at fourth, 5.7% longer than best. Snow handling was second, and ice braking and traction third, so its winter results were competitive without matching the Michelin everywhere. This is a strong result from one test in 235/45 R18, with the main compromise being standing-water performance rather than grip on a wet surface.
