Performance Analysis

Drawn from 4 tests. Updated October 29, 2026.

Low rolling resistance is the Continental ContiCrossContact Winter's most consistent test strength, praised in three of four SUV comparisons. Auto Bild placed it second of eight in 2010 with an Exemplary verdict, highlighting short snow stops and balanced winter performance, then third of eight in 2011. Its 2013 SUV test placed it third of ten, with the lowest rolling resistance and very good snow performance. The separate 2013 Toroleo SUV comparison put it fifth of six, despite favorable comments on dry-road stability and rolling resistance. Overall results were therefore generally good, but not uniformly near the front.

Braking and snow cornering are less consistent than efficiency. Auto Bild praised short wet stops in 2011, whereas its 2013 verdict called wet and dry braking average, an unusually less favorable wet assessment. Slightly extended dry stops were already a criticism in 2010. Snow cornering was only average in 2011, an unusual contrast to the very good snow verdict in 2013. The 2013 Auto Bild test also criticised noise, while the 2010 and 2011 comparisons noted a high price. With no individual discipline measurements here, these judgements support a balanced winter tire with an efficiency advantage, rather than a claim of consistently short stops on every surface.
