Good tire overall very neutral felt heavy and took some time to heat up. More bottom end touring.

Felt compelled to comment on these tires as i bought a pair based on the rave reviews on here about all round grip & particularly about how long they last. Ivehota honda blackbird which these tires were also recommended for so igave them a go. I have ran lots of other sports touring tires & usually get around 4500mls from a rear & thats a mixture of pillion, loaded with luggage & jyst solo riding. I taken with the reports of the longevity of these tires as im always after more miles so i gave them a go. I agree with most reviews & i found the dry & wet grip very very good & the bike always felt poised & keen as the triple compound wears the tire evenly so it tetsins its roind profile rather than the flat middle section you get on most tires when they start to wear in the middle, those are the possitives & all very good. On to then a najor negative & i haveyo say a real dissapointment! I ride progressively & the rear gets used edge to edge & the power put through all areas of the tire, it lasted less than 3000mls ?!?!? Thats shocking given the hype of 8000 plus miles by sone reviews. Thats also been mostly 1 up with no luggage on this tire. Thats shocking, ive hot more miles than that out of pure sports tires. If you coast along & dont put much power throug it then it will last longer but i sippose any tire would. So in conclusion yes theyre good but theyre cheap for a reason, they dont last 5 minutes which for a touring tire is pants, sports tires will give you much more grip & last about the same miles but if your after more miles spend more money on a set of michelin pilot roads or metzler Z8's same grip & stanility but twice the milage. Conclusion, initialy really good but very very poor distance for a so called touring tire. I wont be buying them again

Hi I'm a 100 mile a day commuter that breaks down to 70 miles motorway and fast A roads around a constant 80 mph and 30 miles a day through London 20mph
If I'm lucky I currently ride a er6 but had these on my 600 hornet they are a great all round tire last for ages the ones on my er6 have done 17000 miles so far and there's still life in them they haven't squared off too much I'll probably change them at 20000 or there about a the stock tires that came with the bike were rubbish handling and were worn out in 8000 miles these Avons are the business take it from me ( someone who actually rides their bike)

Got the storms on my triumph sprint st 1050 and my old vfr 750 in my mind these are the best sports touring tire great grip in wet and dry feel confident with them on both bikes .The front tire on the on vfr has done 10,000 miles back did 8,000 miles great mileage on the sprint both did 7,500 miles which is good just got some more for my vfr shop around you will get a pair for £160 value for money .

Own a bandit 1250. used mainly long summer tours when all mileage is put on. I replaced worn out Dunlops at a mere 4000 miles in 2013. Put on Avon Storms. lasted until now (June 15) and 10,000 miles later. That is 3 European tours and my return recently from Italian Lakes and alps. Just purchased another set, Ultra 2 that should be even better. I reckon almost £100 cheaper than Pilot Roads that tempted me. As an all purpose sports touring tire worth a punt. You can get a pair or well under £150 as I did !

Owned this bike for 5 years, tried all sorts of tires, Avon storm 2 ultra is simply the best all round tire.

Just changed from Bridgestones to Avon storms on my Kawasaki,what a transformation. Fantastic! Keep it up Avon.

I ride Yamaha xjr1300 and have used these tires for the past five years going through two rear and one front tire a year - give great road feedback great in the wet and don't think ill change from Avon storm any time soon -

A lack of grip in the rear in severe rain alerted me to the fact the rear was close to the wear limit. Having checked the mileage the rear had done almost 12000 miles! The front has done 6000 miles and still has life left.

The tires have served me well on a mixture of commuting and weekend rides. I did lose the front in rain under heavy braking but can I attribute that to the tire? I don't think I can but how any other tire may have handled the situation I can't answer. For the price and life these tire are a good choice for sport touring.

Said I would never buy avon tires don't now why but I always did,
anyway I bought a zzr1400 two years ago with them on, and I will be replacing them with the same tire storm ultra 2, how wrong was I,
I am now going to feel like a fool by saying mine have done 12,000 on both, up to now and still going looks like another 2,000 left in them crazy I know,
and I do ride as the zzr14 wants to be ridden hard most of the time, I have had not issue's with the storm 2 in the wet or dry that any other tire would not have done, recently I have been up and down motorways the rear has squared off, but all tires do that, I am more than happy with these tires I tell it as it is and I am no dreamer.

i've had two superblackbirds and now on my 2nd hayabusa, this is the best tire i've ever had on a bike like this, i tour europe, plus hard cornering and acceleration, nothing else comes close for stability and even wear and longevity, if you don't get on with this tire, you're riding the bike wrong. love it, excellent road contact and feel, this is one of only a couple of tires i trust, they even warm up quick, (never trust any tire until its warmed up) been riding 32 years. now up too 12,000 miles on current pair, expect another 2-3,000 yet, very happy with them

Im on my second set of these tires now,i was so impressed with the longevity of the first set i had that i decided to go for them again.I weigh 16stone and i got 6000 miles out of the rear,it hadn't really squared off either,it still held its round profile after that mileage but the rubber was past the indicators on the grooves so i renewed.I Could not fault them in any way,in the dry they stick like glue and are very reassuring in the wet,never had and movement at all and ive ridden in a lot of rain this year.

Replaced worn out Conti's. Agressive/Spirited riding all year round (within limits!) Toured Ireland last summer - better than the same trip on Conti's in the spring. When new/warm wet grip is ok - non existant in cold British winter, to be fair the Conti's were the same year before - conclusion they only work if warm. Fitted as a pair, just got 4K up on them and puncture in rear - bout 2K left - Looking for something else now, not bad but not great, pricey for an "OK" tire, not sure which way to go now.

I have used these for the last time, the tires do not suit the St100. The front tire cause a steering wobble and can become dangerous at times, ie one handed whilst lifting the helmet visor. These initally felt good when compared to the cross ply tires used previously, but when compared to the competion not that great.
