Performance Analysis
Drawn from 1 tests. Updated October 28, 2026.
The Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 finished last of eight in Vi Bilagare's 2020 SUV test, but the comparison needs context: it was a mild all-terrain option against seven on-road tires. Its clearest strengths were refinement and a progressive limit. Subjective comfort and noise both placed first of eight, and the testers praised grip that released gradually with early warning. Those findings describe a comfortable, predictable response rather than high grip, and come from a single test in 225/60 R18.
Road performance was consistently behind this on-road field. Dry braking was last at 40.1 m, 18.3% longer than best, while wet braking was last at 26.3 m, 22.3% longer. Dry handling was 2.6% slower than best and wet handling 9% slower, both last of eight. Straight aquaplaning resistance also finished last, 15.9% from best. The testers criticised lower grip than the road-specific rivals and poor steering feedback. Rolling resistance was another last place, albeit with a smaller 6.4% gap to best. The result establishes the road-performance cost of this comparison, but does not measure whether its off-road ability compensates for those losses.
