2025 ADAC All Terrain Tire Test P7 of 8

The Bridgestone Dueler A/T002 shows strong performance on paved roads. It handles wet surfaces well, ranking as the second-best tire in the test on wet asphalt, and its performance in the dry is also solid, where it stands out as a very good dry-braking tire. However, its overall ranking plummets to second-to-last place because of its capabilities on snow. In the snow evaluation, it was the weakest tire in the entire test group across braking, traction, and handling, which led to its final score being downgraded.

Performance Analysis

Drawn from 2 tests. Updated March 27, 2026.

Across the two all-terrain comparative tests, the Bridgestone Dueler All Terrain AT002 shows a clear split personality: it is consistently strong on dry tarmac (especially braking), but repeatedly weak in winter conditions. Overall results are lower-mid pack (7/9 in ADAC 2025 and 5/7 in the 2024 multi-surface test), largely dragged down by snow performance.

In wet conditions it trends to mid-pack: capable in wet cornering metrics (wet circle typically top-3), but less competitive in wet braking and some aquaplaning measures. Off-road capability is mixed-strong traction in some loose-surface tests (notably gravel traction), but weaker in gravel braking and poorer in mud, indicating the tire favors general all-terrain versatility over deep-surface bite.

Best All Terrain Tires Tested On Road, Off Road and Snow [2024]

Pro Mobil 255/55 R18

Bridgestone Dueler A/T 002 proved to be one of the more road-focused AT tires. On dry roads it delivered the best braking performance in the test along with good handling stability and steering response. Wet performance was commendably good with reasonable braking distances and safe, predictable handling characteristics. Its main weakness showed in snow conditions where it fell behind other winter-rated tires in the test across all metrics. Offroad performance was decent overall though it wasn't class-leading, showing particular weakness in muddy conditions. The tire's strengths lie in its efficiency - rolling resistance was very good at 7.8 kg/t. While relatively loud at 72.9 dB, it offered average comfort levels and good bump absorption. A solid choice for those who spend most time on roads but want occasional offroad capability.
