An excellent tire for the Skoda Citigo that I drive. The handling and grip are excellent. Road noise is low and the wear rate has so far been very good. What it is like when I have clicked up another 10,000 miles we shall have to wait and see, although I predict it to continue being an excellent wear rate. Never having seen them before I was rather sceptical, but I think that I have been won over.

These tires were fitted as standard to my new 2018 vehicle. I retained them for but a couple of months (& 1,500 miles) before replacing with Nokian Weatherproof All Season tires. Something of an extravagance I accept, but I also had these tires ( although the Ecocontact 3's at that time) factory-fitted to my previous car - the same model, albeit the 2015 version. Those lasted but 4.5k miles (& but a few more months) before I lashed out & replaced those with Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Generation 2 tires - another possible extravagance. However the Mark 3 Continentals had only just replaced the Mark 1, & within around 1 year the Mark 3 had been replaced by the Mark 5. The Mark 5 has now been replaced by the Mark 6 (in what? just a few months), so with such a constant replacement/improvement, I personally have little faith in them. The Goodyear 4 Seasons I found to be absolutely first class, and I rate the Nokian Weatherproofs' equally highly, & never regretted the expense involved in changing them, & whilst probably unnecessary, to me, it was money well worth spending - one needs to have confidence in their tires, as there's but 4 chunks of palm-sized rubber that keeps the vehicle on the road, & one out of their "box".
You pays your money & you makes your choice - but there's no pockets in Shrouds.

These tires were fitted to the new car I purchased in February 2018. I had bought the same model of car 2 years earlier, but as these were factory-fitted with Ecocontact 3 tires, I replaced them at 4.5k with Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons generation 2 tires - and never regretted the additional expense. NOT being a fan of the Continental Ecocontact tires, I proceeded to fork out the extra money to replace the factory-fitted tires on my latest car, this time at just 1.6k miles - this time having Nokian Weatherproof tires fitted. Expensive to be sure, and "possibly" not "absolutely" essential, but in our Country where heavy rain is to be a fact of life, having all-season tires (rather than merely summer tires) is a factor about which I feel quite strongly, and am prepared to pay quite heavily for the peace-of-mind.. The Nokians are (I feel) just as reassuring: quiet & comfortable as the Goodyears - no cheaper, I admit, but you pays your money & you takes your choice - AND there's no pockets in shrouds. Peace of mind comes at a price!

Writing about the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 given 83% (165-70-14-H)

Changed to these tires when my last tires (Continental ecocontact 3 tires) had completed no more than 4500 miles, as they were purely a Summer tire & did not really inspire confidence in the wet. Was also somewhat concerned about how they would perform in more wintery conditions.

Fitted as standard to my new car. They "seem" to be OK but as a Summer tire, are not what I would have fitted for preference - desirably needing a much higher rating to give confidence when driving in both wet & snowy conditions.
Although these tires have yet to reach 2000 miles, I will be changing them for either Nokian or Goodyear 4 seasons generation 2 tires in the very near future.

Writing about the Michelin CrossClimate given 89% (175-65-14-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 6000 average miles
Been driving Crossclimates 175/65/14 on my Citigo for 6000 miles majorly on the motorways, A roads and B roads. Great grip on both wet and dry, quiet and good fuel economy. Crossclimates definitely can keep you mobile on the roads in the winters. If you do not need to drive to heavy snow covered B road, Crossclimates is one of the best all-season tires you can find.

I've driven on snowy B roads quite a lot this winter. Bear in mind gentle and sensible driving is still required on extremely snowy condition. The grip would be lost immediately if the car cornered too aggressive on snow, however, the grip would be gained again once the car slowed down / traction control kicked in. Bottom line is: Everything was manageable and nowhere near losing control.

Overall I am still very happy with the Crossclimates.

Writing about the Continental Premium Contact 2 given 57% (175-65-14-S)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 easy going miles
Had these tires factory-fitted to my 2015 car, but was not really impressed. As Continental have now stopped producing them, & have now introduced the 5 series, it would seem that Continental weren't that impressed either.
Not being overly confident about them, I "binned" them at just over 4000 miles, & fitted Goodyear 4seasons Generation 2 instead.
The improvement (in every aspect) is remarkable, & although it cost me a few hundred quid, it was worth the expense - I now feel totally happy & safe.

A point well worth remembering, is that if one buys a "budget" car (aka a City car) then quite large economies have been practiced somewhere, to make them both desirable & affordable - possibly with the Clutch system & the brakes being targeted, but fitting cheap (even though "adequate") tires, is also a very obvious place to exercise cost-cutting.

Writing about the Sava Eskimo S3 Plus given 83% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
I begun to use these on my citigo, replacing Falken sn832 ecorun summer tire set. Though i drove little with them and can't tell anything for snow performance for the moment, i must tell that to my surprise, these are better for road noise, more comfortable and almost have no negative effect on actual mpg compared to Falken summer tires which had been picked as they are strong on these aspects ( which is really true as i can compare with Bridgestone ecopia ). So initial impression is exatly on the good side.

bought these for our citygo for the winter, and they are doing very well indeed. The snow has not impeded the trip to work at all, no drama, just good grip in all UK winter weather so far. totally recommended.
