Fiat Fiorino Van 2008 Tire Review Highlights

Writing about the Goodyear EfficientGrip given 58% (185-65-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 18 spirited miles
To start with the tires performed well and the van (Fiat Fiorino) handle well with good levels of comfort and grip, but once 15,000 miles was reached the tire went egg shape with constant vibration on the steering wheel. At first it was subtle but over the next 2 or 3 K it got a lot more pronounced until the vehicle is almost undriveable. This also coincided with tires loss of grip (traction control interrupting all the time) and major increase in aquaplanning.
This is all still with 4mm of tread left, just not what I would expect from premium branded tires.
In all my years of motoring this is the first time I have ever had to change out tires early as they were that bad that for safety sake they had to go.

Driving on mostly country roads for 20000 easy going miles
Average to ok performance in the dry, comfortable enough and resonably quiet.
Major problem on snow to the point of being dangerous. Hard compound plus low rolling resistance to gain on economy equates to a nightmare on snow/slush.Definatley will not buy again, not worth the money and no real savings made. Should have bought some 4 season tires.

Came as standard on a brand new 2008 Fiorino van - didn't specify winter tires, just the bigger 15" wheels. Glad though - Feb 2009 & Dec 2009/Jan 2009 driving in snow on my commute proved the benefit of these tires, loads of grip! Back tires barely worn & fronts coming up for replacement shortly: 21,000 miles, not bad eh?
