Have had a pair of these tires on a Getz 1.5 CRDI, first at back (ca. 40000 miles), then at front (ca. 10000 miles). While wear was ok (a bit better than average), and the dry grip was acceptable, as another user said, they were shocking in the wet (tires marked as M+S!, must be a joke!). A complete DANGER!
Have driven 9 or 10 cars for long distances during the last 18 years, with many kinds and brands of tires, and these ones are the worst without any doubt. Driving in the wet, even with an easy going style, they lost grip easily on almost any sharp curve. Never had an unintentional spin till I met these tires.
They where also quite noisy. As for fuel consumption, it was ok. I've made some of my best consumption records while these tires where mounted, but I wouldn't say that they helped a lot. Instead I would say the didn't hurt the fuel consumption.
